Letting Go Can Actually Help You Connect

Sometimes we try to fix everything for our kids.
We worry. We try to control.
But all that control can push our teens away.

That’s why the Let Them Theory hit me so hard. It’s all about letting others do their thing, while we focus on being who we want to be.

Cortni shared how this helped her stop worrying about her teen’s choices. It gave her more peace and helped her daughter grow.

The T-Chart That Changes Everything

One of the tools I teach is called the T-Chart of Control.

It’s super simple:
Draw a big “T” on a piece of paper.
On the left, write “Things I CAN control.”
On the right, write “Things I CAN’T control.”

This helps you see what’s really in your power. Then, you can put your time and energy into what matters most—yourself.

The Books That Made a Big Impact

Here are the three books we talk about in this episode:

1. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins
– Helps you stop trying to control everyone and focus on being your best self.

2. Leadership and Self-Deception by The Arbinger Institute
– Teaches you how to take ownership and see others with more love and understanding.

3.The Gift of Imperfect Parenting by Brené Brown
– Reminds you it’s okay to be human. Helps you build real, honest connections with your kids.

Bonus mentions:
– A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
– Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
– A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
